He worked droving cattle from the Kimberley to Mingenew and on one trip further south passed Lake Indoon and Lake Logue [7]
At the age of 46 years he decided to settle down so purchased approximately 10,000 acres of land near Lake Indoon [7: page 119]

He owned 9,935 acres of land at Eneabba consisting of Victoria Locations 2699, 2814, 8346, 8354, 5778 and 5779 [3]
Initially he and Harry F. KING, who wasn't related, slept at Erindoon out in the open and in a bark hut [7: page 119]
They used a horse and cart to get supplies and in 1924 purchased a Cletrac tractor which they used to clear and plough up land [7]
Began growing clover, wheat and oats reaping four to five bag crops which were used to feed pigs bred on the property [7]
He and Harry F. KING ploughed up a 40 mile long road from Erindoon to Three Springs in 1924 [7: page 118]
In 1935 gained approval for the lease of 6,144 acres in Eneabba, being Pastoral Leases 392/407 and 392/408 [3]
Paid rates on his collective 16,079 acres of freehold and leasehold land to the Carnamah District Road Board [3]
Over the years he built up a herd of 200 to 300 cattle including 100 breeders which produced 50 to 60 calves each year [7: page 119]
He also ran 1,000 sheep on Erindoon and bred pigs with 20 breeding sows[7: page 119]
Sold 42 wethers at 15/4 and 28 at 14/7 per head through Elder Smith & Co Ltd at the Midland Market on 5 March 1937 [5: 5-Mar-1937]
Sold 63 wethers (24 at 25/10, 39 at 24/1) and 4 lambs at 17/10 through Elder Smith & Co Ltd on 9 June 1937 [5: 11-Jun-1937]
From 1949 he had the telephone connect to his homestead on Erindoon - which ran from the telephone exchange in Irwin [60]
Farmed Erindoon in partnership with his son Douglas from 1939 until selling the property in November 1955 [3] [7: page 120]
Later resided in the Perth suburb of Bedford Park [2]
Died 14 May 1966; buried Karrakatta Cemetery, Perth WA (Roman Catholic, AC, 217)[2]
