Sold his partly paid off 1,300 acre Lot M1601 to John ATKINSON on 26 July 1926 [27]
He purchased additional farmland in Winchester, which he sold for £500 in mid 1928 [39: 30-Jun-1928]
His farming venture failed due to the adverse affects of rust on his wheat crops [P517]

He worked for the Perth City Council and then for a number of years he as a cleaner for department stores in Perth [P517]
After contracting leukemia in his late 70s he continued work part time cleaning Piccadilly Arcade in Perth [P517]
He played the accordion and piano accordion very well, was a keen gardener, and was described as "an all round good bloke" [P517]
Resided at 158 Raleigh Street in the Perth suburb of Carlisle until his death in 1980 [P517]
