Departed Gravesend, England on the Robert Morrison and arrived in Fremantle, Western Australia on 15 February 1876 [69]
Worked in his uncle Charles CROWTHER's department store in Geraldton 1876-1880 and then farmed near Walkaway [P95]
Married Elizabeth EAKINS at Saint James Church in Greenough on 19 October 1881[P95]
Worked as a Fettler and later Ganger on the construction of the Midland Railway Company railway line [P95]
Following the completion of the railway he was appointed Railway Stationmaster in Dongara in June 1895 [P95]
Transferred to be Railway Stationmaster in Mogumber in 1896 [P95] and remained there until 1907 [6]
His daughter Maud was Postmistress in Mogumber in 1906, and his daughter Alma was in 1907 [6]
Resided at The Avenue in the Perth suburb of Midland Junction in 1908, and by 1909 had been transferred back to Mogumber [6]

Resided in Boyanup until 1923 when he shifted to the Perth suburb of Bassendean [P95]
In 1928 shifted to the outer suburb of Greenmount, where he resided until his death in 1935 [P95]
