They started farming with £70 capital and borrowed additional money from the Agricultural Bank [152]
He and his brothers were among the first to commence farming in Three Springs[31: 11-Jun-1911] [120: 26-Dec-1929]
The farm in Three Springs was conducted by Charles while he and Evander continued market gardening at Kojarena [79: 23-Aug-1973]
Evander later joined Charles in Three Springs and he returned to South Australia[4: 24-Nov-1966]

His wife gave birth to their son Kenneth Edward FRANKLIN on 17 September 1909 near Cowell in South Australia [55]
Rates for the farm in Three Springs were in the names of him his brothers until 1909-10 [44]
From 1910-11 onwards rates for the farm in Three Springs were in the names of just his brothers Charles and Evander [44]
His brother Evander owed a brother £300 in 1916, which may have been to him for buying out his share of the farm [152]
