Had a relationship with Jemima ASHBY which resulted in a daughter Annie Emily, who was born in 1902 ^[15]
In 1903 he was working as a Fettler on the Koojan-Moora section of the Midland Railway line ^{[114: page 80]}
The next year he acquired through two leases 260 acres in Wannamal (Swan Locations 2152 and 2260) ^{[114: page 57]}

Left Wannamal in December 1922 after selling his orchard in Wannamal to John K. KIMBER ^{[114: page 219]}
