     Their sister Sophie Annie HELWIG lived with them as their housekeeper until marrying Walter L. SIMONS in 1932 ^{[19] [66]}
Married Monica Kathleen COOPER at the Presbyterian Church in Carnamah on Monday afternoon 11 January 1937 ^{[5: 15-Jan-1937]}
     His best man was Bert BAYLISS of Perenjori, and the officiating minister was Rev. David H. DYKE of Carnamah ^[5]
     After the ceremony they held an informal wedding breakfast at the Pyramid Tea Rooms at 10 Macpherson Street in Carnamah ^[5]
     They then motored to Caron and caught the express train to Perth en-route to spend their honeymoon in the Eastern States ^[5]
