On 7 June 1865 he obtained Pastoral Lease 3146 containing Carnamah Spring [122]
The lease had previously been lease 2040 and had first been taken out by Duncan MACPHERSON and George SLATER in 1861 [122]
He later abandoned the lease and Duncan MACPHERSON and George SLATER again took it up (this time as lease 9248) [122]
He's believed to be the George who was born in Perth in 1842, son of George SHENTON and Ann Catherine COUSINS [15]
That George SHENTON was a Merchant in Perth, a Member of the Legislative Council and the Mayor of Perth [114: page 77]
