On Christmas Eve in 1902 he went before the Police Court in Perth for disorderly conduct and assaulting a police constable [39]
The offences had occurred on Wellington Street in Perth and he admitted to the court that he couldn't remember anything [39]
He received a fine of 20 shillings for the disorderly conduct and three days imprisonment for assaulting the constable [39: 25-Dec-1902]

He and Robert BELL took up the 200 acre Victoria Location 4374 in Three Springs in about August of 1909 [86: 9-Sep-1909]
About two months later they took up another 400 acres in Three Springs, which was Victoria Locations 4492 and 4493 [9: 5-Nov-1909]
By mid 1913 his and Robert BELL's former 600 acre property at Three Springs was owned by "Joe" James J. BROWN [44]
