     He was appointed to the 3rd Reinforcements of the 51st Battalion at Blackboy Hill in the Perth hills on 29 April 1916 [30]
     Embarked from Fremantle, Western Australia for active service abroad on the H.M.A.T. A48 Seang Bee on 18 July 1916 [30]
     After further training in England he was transferred to the 44th Battalion and proceeded to France on 25 November 1916 [30]
     Private 2021 in the Australian Imperial Force's 44th Battalion in France during the First World War [30]
     Wounded in Action in France on 9 June 1917 and after a period of hospitalisation rejoined his unit on 20 August 1917 [30]
     Wounded in Action in France 4 October 1917 and was invalided to England with a shell wound to his right forearm [30]
     Received treatment at the Northampton War Hospital after which he was returned to Australia due to being medically unfit [30]
     Discharged from the Australian Imperial Force in Perth on 2 September 1918; received the British War Medal & Victory Medal [30]
Labourer of 260 Guildford Road in the Perth suburb of Maylands in 1925 [50]
Labourer in Darlington in 1936 [50]
Resided of late in the Perth suburb of Inglewood [2]
Died 20 March 1980; ashes dispersed at the Karrakatta Cemetery, Perth WA [2]
