On 13 January 1936 he borrowed Mrs Hilda M. COLE's car to travel into Carnamah, and was to return it three hours later [88]
After he failed to return the car Mrs COLE reported the matter at the Carnamah Police Station on 23 January 1936 [88]
If he was a former constable, he could be John Joseph CARROLL who served in the WA Police Force from 1928 to 1931 [87]
Or he might be the John Joseph Patrick CARROLL who pretended to a policeman in 1931 to obtain a motor truck [81: 3-Jan-1932]
