From The West Australian newspaper, Saturday 6 January 1940:
"Deaths - COLLYER - On January 4, 1940, at Children's Hospital, Subiaco, John Ernest, dearly beloved son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Ernest Collyer, of Carnamah, loving brother of Bobbie, beloved grandson of Mrs. Ruby Dodge, and loved godson of Nurse Wood; aged 10 months. Privately interred in the Anglican Cemetery, Karrakatta, on January 5, by Messrs. Prosser, Scott and Co., Ltd. The Rev. Lindsay officiated at the graveside."
From The North Midland Times newspaper, Friday 12 January 1940:
"Late John Collyer. It is with extreme regret that we record the death of John Ernest, the ten month old infant son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Collyer, of Five Gums. The deceased child had been suffering infant eczema for some time past, and this complaint eventually resulted in his death. The funeral took place on Friday of last week, the remains being privately interred in the Anglican portion of the Karrakatta cemetery. The Rev. Lindsay officiated at the graveside."
