Offered to shift a house from a farm in Coorow to the Carnamah townsite for the Midland Railway Company in April 1918 [34]
He secured the contract to shift the house at a payment of 1/6 per ton per mile with contingency for cutting a track where required [34]
After seeing the house he realised it was a far bigger job than he'd anticipated, so the Midland Railway Company got someone else [34]
