"Obituaries - Lois Lucas - Carnamah Red Cross Unit. Lois Lucas was an enthusiastic member of the Carnamah Red Cross for many years. She used her many talents to assist Red Cross throughout the North Midlands District. When the branch decided to have a uniform group, trained in First Aid and Home Nursing, she was in the original group and assisted at all local function requiring first aiders - local shows, sporting fixtures and training. Blood Bank had a mobile visit once a year and up to a hundred donations were usually gathered from the district. Lois played the piano accordion, did china painting, sewing, cooking and helped in a myriad of ways putting her Red Cross training and principles into practice. She did Civil Defense training and always helped with local fires and floods and was a friend to all. On the occasion of the visit of the King and Queen of Thailand to Perth, Lois was one of the half a dozen uniformed members who formed a Guard of Honour at Government House."
