From The Midlands Advocate newspaper, Friday 10 March 1944:
"A marriage of interest to people in Carnamah took place at Geraldton, when Maureen, second eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs M. Brennan, of Carnamah, was joined in holy matrimony to Robert Smith (A.I.F.), of Geraldton. The groom was one of the original 'Rats of Tobruk', and was wounded while serving in the Middle East. We wish the young couple the very best in their future."
