Married Emily Alice BELLAMY in England in 1885 ^[21]
He worked as a Grocer and Storekeeper and lived with his wife and children on Queen Street in Withernsea, Yorkshire, England ^[20]
Their son William died aged five years in 1892, their daughter Olive in infancy in 1892, and their daughter Dorothy at 13 in 1908 ^[21]
Departed from London, England on the steamship Otway on 25 April 1913 bound for Fremantle, Western Australia ^[203]
He immigrated on the Otway with his wife and four of his four surviving adult children - Alice, Robert, Henry and Emilie ^[203]

On 24 December 1924, when arriving home from work at his usual time of 11:30 at night, he was attacked at his front gate ^[225]
He was hit twice from behind at his gate by two or more men who then fled with his bag that he took to and from work ^{[225: 26-Dec-1924]}
His wife, late of Subiaco, died at the age of 66 years on 13 October 1927 and was buried at the Karrakatta Cemetery ^[2]

Suffering from an injured knee he was conveyed from Winchester to the Carnamah Private Hospital on 19 February 1936 ^{[5: 21-Feb-1936]}
