Born 29 December 1925 in New Norcia, Western Australia [64]
Son of Melchior TAYLOR and Angelina SMITH [64]
Grew up in New Norcia - initially on the Mission Farm and following the death of his mother at Saint Mary's Boys Orphanage [64]
After leaving school he worked on the Mission Farm in New Norcia as well as working locally as a Shearer [64]
Member of the New Norcia Football Club - served as Captain [64]
For a few years left New Norcia and worked as a Shearer in the Carnamah and Three Springs districts [64]
Around 1946 he returned to New Norcia and courted Miss Irene WHEELOCK, who he married on 6 January 1950 [64]
A few months after their marriage they shifted to Coorow [64]
Member of the Coorow Football Club and later a local Goal Umpire [64]
Along with his wife and children moved to where Shearing work was available, including a time in the Murchison area [64]
Later settled in Carnamah where he continued Shearing [64]
Resided at 38 Slater Street in Carnamah (Gov Lot 56) [P8]
After retiring from actual shearing he worked in shearing sheds as a rouse until the age of 70 [64]
Also worked doing odd jobs in and around the town of Carnamah until the age of 75, including chores at the Carnamah Hotel [64]
He spent the last two months of his life in Geraldton where he was cared for by his son Ashley and daughter-in-law Heather [64]
Father of Phyllis, Gerald, Kevin, Ashley, Monica, Paul, Arthur and Leah [64]
Died 13 July 2005; buried at Three Springs General Cemetery in Three Springs, Western Australia [P8]
