Alfred had a shotgun and he and Ernest small bore rifles, and after shooting rabbits and parrots they went to a dam for water [86]
While Alfred's gun was on the ground it discharged, having possibly been knocked, and shot him in the buttuck [86]
Ernest ran to Mrs Minnie M. WATSON's farmhouse and she returned to rush him to Three Springs for medical attention [86]
Local doctor James P. MCALEER found "that the injury was a rather serious one" [86: 27-Nov-1923]
