His son Harold W. BODYCOAT of the Australian Imperial Force's 21st Battalion was Killed in Action in Belgium on 22 October 1917 ^[94]
In 1919 he was living at 127 Joel Terrace in the Perth suburb of Mount Lawley ^{[30: item 3095635]}
Resided on his son Walter's Trevose Farm on the Inering Estate in Carnamah from 1925 to 1935 ^{[2] [19]}
His wife, who resided in the Perth suburb of Claremont, passed away at the age of 76 years on 2 November 1933 ^[2]
A few weeks before his death he became unwell and was admitted to the Carnamah Private Hospital 14 Robertson Street ^{[5: 19-Jul-1935]}

Obituary - The Late Mr. Walter Bodycoat
"The death occurred on Friday, July 12, when Mr. Bodycoat passed away, at Perth. The deceased, who was 78 years of age, had enjoyed good health up till a few weeks ago, at which time he was residing with his son, Mr. W. Bodycoat of Carnamah. He was removed to the Carnamah Hospital and later Perth. The late Mr. Bodycoat was born in Victoria and came to Western Australia about 36 years ago when he was engaged in mining operations at Kalgoorlie and on the adjacent fields. He first came to Carnamah eight years ago. His wife predeceased him by a little over 12 months. He leaves three sons and two daughters, Walter, of Carnamah, Tom, of Cottesloe, Clarence, of Nedlands, and Mrs. Irwine and Joan, of Nedlands. The funeral took place on Monday when the remains were interred in the Karrakatta Cemetery."
