He awoke on 27 July 1903 after hearing an unusual noise and discovered the camp of his co-worker George BONICE on fire [323]
George had kept a lot of firewood and brush in his camp, which caught fire and by the time he woke he couldn't escape and died [323]
Came 3rd in the 100 Yards Running Race at the Annual Railway Picnic in Dongara on Saturday 25 April 1904 [39: 27-Apr-1904]
The Annual Railway Picnic was held each year by the workers of the Watheroo-Walkaway section of the Midland Railway line [39]
