She was the eldest of at least nine children with younger siblings Laura, Henry, Charles, George, Jane, Ellen, Minnie and Edith [20] [69]
At birth and as a child she was given and used the first names of Martha Ann but was later known as Annie Eleanor [20] [21] [324]
In 1871 she was living with her parents and younger siblings Laura and Henry at Pile Hill in Woking, Surrey, England [20]
Married (1) stonemason Francis Charles BUTLER on 20 June 1885 at Saint Mary's Church in Wimbledon, Surrey, England [324]
Departed England with her husband and son on the sailing ship Otago and arrived in Fremantle, Western Australia on 4 June 1886 [69]
Also on board the same voyage of the Otaga immigrating to Western Australia were her parents, three brothers and four sisters [69]
Her only sibling not on the Otago was her second youngest sister Minnie who'd died in infancy in 1879 [21] [407]
Resided with her husband and son in Dongara [225: 29-Mar-1888]
Her husband went to fish from the local jetty in Dongara on the night of 15 March 1888 but failed to return home [225: 29-Mar-1888]
The next day her husband's body was found on the seabed under the jetty with an inquest finding he'd died from accidental drowning [225]
Married (2) Henry FLETCHER in 1894 in the Perth suburb of Highgate [15]
She and her second husband, who worked as a carpenter, were living in Mingenew in 1903 [50]
Resided in Arrino 1904-1909 and in Mingenew 1910-1917 [19] [50]
Her brother George was in Mingenew during 1914 working as a shearer until taking strychnine which resulted in his death [31: 30-Oct-1914]
Resided at 20 Princess Road in the Perth suburb of Claremont 1922-1935 [39: 27-Jul-1931, 11-Apr-1935] [50]
At the age of 80 years her mother passed away at her home at 20 Princess Road on 25 September 1926 [39: 4-Oct-1926]
Her second husband died aged 65 on 27 July 1931 "due to a cut throat, self-inflicted while in a morbid state of mind" [2] [225: 7-Jul-1931]
Mother of Francis Charles BUTLER and of Henry, Rodney, Gladys and Laura FLETCHER [15] [39: 11-Apr-1935]
Died 10 April 1935; buried at Karrakatta Cemetery in Perth, Western Australia (Anglican, NA, 37) [2]
