Resided in South Australia from 1876 to 1880 and then returned to Elberton in Gloucestershire, England [5: 12-Jan-1934]
In 1881 was living in Elberton Village with his widowed mother and was working there as a Baker [20]
Married Mary ENGLAND on 7 August 1882 at Saint Mary's Church in Almondsbury, Gloucestershire, England [491]
They resided in Elberton where he was a Grocer & Farmer in 1891, Farmer 1901-1911 and Farmer of Jennings Farm 1920-1925 [20] [490]
Departed England with his wife and son Frank on the steamship Orsova and arrived in Fremantle, Western Australia on 5 May 1925 [70]
In 1925 purchased 1,590 acres of land in Winchester in partnership with his sons Tom and Frank and son-in-law Frank LONG [27]
The 1,590 acres was Lot M1580 of Victoria Location 2023 and came at a cost of £994, payable by instalments over 15 years [27]

Initially farmed the property with his sons and son-law as "Poole, Sons & Long" and then just with his sons as "Poole & Sons" [3] [27]
Following the departure of his son Tom ran the farm with his son Frank under the trading name of "G.N. & F. Poole" [6]
He and his son were telephone number Carnamah-12W [60]
The local newspaper revealed on 1 June 1934 that a parcel and goods had arrived for him at the Carnamah Railway Station [5: 1-Jun-1934]
Won 2nd for his Potatoes in the Vegetable section of the Carnamah Agricultural Shows in 1937 and 1939 [5: 17-Sep-1937] [4: 2-Sep-1939]
On leaving Winchester he shifted to Donnybrook where his daughter Edith and son-in-law Frank LONG were living [P237]
