He was the second of four children with an older brother James and younger brothers William and David [28]
Their mother passed away from carcinoma of the liver at the age of 36 in 1903; and their father married Susan GRAY in 1905 [28]
When the 1911 and 1921 censuses were taken they were living at Marlborough Cottage in Broomhouse, Lanarkshire, Scotland [20]
He was working as a Clerk in 1921 [20]
Departed London, England on the steamship Orvieto and arrived in Fremantle, Western Australia on 2 November 1922 [70]

Farmer in Latham 1932-1935 [19]
Resided in the Perth suburb of Victoria Park prior to enlisting in the Australian Army on 19 March 1941 [16]

Resided of late in the Perth suburb of Mount Pleasant [2]
Died 15 September 1986; ashes interred Karrakatta Cemetery, Perth WA (MC Section, Garden of Remembrance, 11, 34) [2]
