James Tait CARSTAIRS

Born 27 September 1902 at South Callange Farm in Ceres, Fife, Scotland ^[28]
Son of farmer Robert CARSTAIRS and Annie TAIT ^[28]
Spent his early childhood at South Callange Farm in Ceres, Fife, Scotland, which was also where he was born at 2pm ^{[20] [28]}
In 1921 he was working as a ploughman on Rusk Farm in Leuchars, Fife, Scotland ^[20]
He later lived and worked on Balchrystie Farm in Colinsburgh, Fife, Scotland ^[203]
Along with his brother John he departed London, England on 3 January 1923 bound for Albany, Western Australia ^[203]
Purchased 1784 acres of land in Carnamah, Western Australia in partnership with his brother John on 7 March 1924 ^[27]
The land, which was virgin bush, was purchased from the Midland Railway Company for £1452, payable by instalments ^[27]
The 1784 acres consisted of Lots M985, M986 and M990 of Victoria Location 2022 ^[27]
Farmer in Carnamah in 1924 and 1925 ^[19]
Their parents arrived in Western Australia in late January 1925 to join them at Carnamah ^[70]
Within the last three months of his life, they left their farm in Carnamah and moved to Perenjori ^{[2] [50]}
Died 22 April 1925; buried at the Karrakatta Cemetery in Perth, Western Australia (Presbyterian, GA, 155) ^[2]
Following his death his brother sold their 1,784 acres in Carnamah to Ernest L. MITCHELL and Robert W. STRACHAN ^[27]

Funerals
"CARSTAIRS - The Friends of Mr and Mrs Robert Carstairs, of Perenjori, W.A,, formerly of Fifeshire, Scotland, are respectfully invited to follow the remains of their late beloved son, James Tait, to the place of interment, the Presbyterian portion of the Karrakatta Cemetery. The funeral is appointed to leave the Private Mortuary of Messrs Donald J. Chipper and Son, 844 Hay-street, Perth at 10.45 o'clock THIS (Wednesday) MORNING. Friends wishing to attend the Funeral may proceed by the 11 o'clock train from Perth."
